Services include:
  • Increase mobility and flexibility of spine and extremities through thorough assessment.
  • Develop treatment plans to address limited body mechanics throughout the body.
  • Increase circulation, promote muscle contractions, encourage would healing and restore movement, through use of electrotherapy and ultrasounds.
  • Identify correct muscle group strengthening through use of biofeedback devices. Used in pelvic floor strengthening for women.
  • Apply manual treatments and management plan for each patient based on scientific principles and best practices.
  • Restore function and independence after stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and other factors of declined mobility through rehabilitation.
  • Recommend an exercise and treatment program to regain endurance and strength.

Occupational Therapy

We are pleased to announce that we have teamed up with St. Joseph Regional Medical Center to provide occupational therapy at Syringa in our Inpatient, Outpatient and Hospice Departments. While physical therapy is aimed to increase mobility and function from an impairment or disability, occupational therapy helps to restore independence for daily living such as dressing, brushing teeth, combing hair, and other purposeful activities.

Services Include:
  • Patient assessment for function after onset of illness, injury or developmental delays
  • Evaluation for comfort and avoidance of stress or injury in both the work and home environment.
  • Treatment plans that increase strength, range of motion, sensation, coordination and body mechanics.
  • Education and training on use of aiding devices. Guidance to family members and caregivers on recommendations for changes that will help the patient continue to enrich their lives by increasing independence in their daily activities.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy is appropriate for any age group when speaking or communicating, reading, writing or swallowing present difficulties whether due to illness, injury or other medical condition, and is designed specifically for the individual in order to increase independence and meet patient and family needs.

Speech therapy services are provided to infants, toddlers and children experiencing delays in talking, play, interaction and feeding skills.

We provide aural rehab for individuals with a hearing impairment, along with recommendations for augmentative and alternative communication devices.
